Why “Kind?”
I truly believe when we are kind to one another, to other creatures in our world, and to our planet, our world becomes a better place. And who doesn’t want to live in a kinder world? So here’s how I am doing my part with Kind Café and Catering. . .
Serving food that is kind to animals, people and the planet.
Kind to Animals: It is my opinion, and there is scientific data to support the idea that we don’t need to kill and eat animals to be healthy. In fact, we can be healthier without them. Animals are emotional creatures just like us. They experience happiness, love, fear, and pain. Just like us.
Kind to People: My goal is for my food to make you happy! Happy about what you taste and how you feel eating it. My goal is also to support small business owners, and local farmers and artisans, whenever possible. We are all in this wonderful thing called life together.
Kind to the Planet: In addition to not contributing to the farm animal industry, I am committed to repurposing and upcycling materials and supplies as much as possible, using organic produce, and making sure all disposable materials are biodegradable and recyclable.
Kind Café and Catering combines traditional preparations with local and homegrown ingredients, including small-batch specialty items from my very own garden for dishes that are nutritious, delicious, and beautiful! The environment and menu of Kind Café and Catering offers a feeling of comfort that is like coming home to a home cooked meal. As this is a “garden to table” experience, the menus will evolve organically based on what is available and in season.
I hope you make the food from Kind Café and Catering part of your meal plan for special events and occasions, both at home and at work. Thank you for reading about my journey and I look forward to sharing my “kind food” with you and those you love.
